Biography

Mary Njau is a born again christian, ambassador of Christ and an enemy of the devil. Her desire is to live for God, praising and worshiping Him in His service; She says she doesn’t want to be closer to God anymore, but God to dwell in her and her in Him.

Mary Njau is married to Evangelist Francis Njau and she is a mother of three children Peter, Julia and Neema Njau all residing in USA. She is the daughter of Bishop Johana and Julia Macharia, sister to Pastor Paul M Macharia of USA, Pastor Gideon M Macharia of Lamu Kenya, Evangelist Hanna Muchira of Mombasa -Kenya and other brothers and sisters making a family of 10.

Mary was born in Kiambu district in Kenya, her father Bishop Johana was ordained months before she was born. Mary's parent moved the whole family to Muranga where she started her primary school education. Her father was then transferred to coast Province to plant churches, moving the whole family to Mombasa and Lamu Mpeketoni, where Mary joined Uziwa primary school then later Kiongwe primary school. Mary enrolled in lamu Girls high school and later Mpeketoni high school where she finished her high school education. Mary then moved to Mombasa where she got married to her husband Evangelist Francis Njau.

Mary started singing in church and school choirs when she was just a little girl. She says she could hear Julia Lucy singing in the radio with her beautiful voice and imitated her while still learning more about God through her songs. Mary’s brother Pastor Paul started a night choir in their house called Ngurunga (cave) children night choir where Mary took an active role of leading praise, worship and dance. When she moved to lamu, Uziwa Mary started a small children praise, worship and dance team. Although Lamu is an Islamic dominion and many other pagan tribes, God helped Mary to have a few children in her team through Which most of the pagans came to know and accept Jesus Christ. Mary never lost her vision even when she came to a foreign land, she started a USA Kenyan Praise Team which travels all over the USA praising, worshiping and dancing for the Lord.

In 1992 Mary had a vision of producing a cassette and in 1993 she started composing songs like: Jesus Niwanyendire , Hihi ni umakagio, Hinya wa Jehova, Kioe Mutharaba and Ninyonete Murata. Mary kept waiting for God’s miracle to get funds for production of her music. In the mean time, her brother Pastor Paul was planning to pay for the studio time and production. But, God performed even a bigger miracle by opening doors for Mary and her family to go to United States of America. Mary hestifully searched for a music studio to record her songs before she left for USA but it was all in vain.

Mary has traveled to Kenya a couple of times to produce her songs but everytime she stepped in JomoKenyatta Airport she lost her voice i.e. the year 2002, and year 2003, this discouraged her but she never lost her vision because she new and believed that her God is able and faithful. She says that she believed that her God had to come and accomplish what He had started. Mary says that she believes that: what God can do no man can do and what God has done no man can undo. This came to pass in a foreign land of USA away from Mary’s home (Kenya).God met the desires of Mary’s heart in a miraculous way, he sent his servant gospel singer Mrs. Sarah Mbogo from Boston USA who directed and supported her in all ways till she produced her first 2 gospel CDs i.e. UTHERI NI MUKU THI (The light has come to the world) CD volume 1, and JESU NI WANYENDIRE (Jesus you loved me when I was a sinner) CD volume 2. Mary says if we release and surrender ourselves to the Almighty God, He is ready to take care of our needs; surely God knows what we need for our satisfaction. She says that she straggled so bad to follow her plans to produce her songs in Kenya BUT God had better plans for her. God prepared all the above people, places, funds, priests and friends to play their parts in her music, she says that it was beyond her imaginations and expectations.

Marys songs are spiritual, scriptural and also inspiring, her song ndina itumi nyingi (I have numerous reason to thank and praise you God ) is marys thanksgiving song to God for what He has done in her life. Mary’s second album “ JESU NIWANYENDIRE“ (Jesus you loved me when I was a sinner), she says she is amazed by the love, mercies and the faithfulness of God and because of this, she decided to live for God under His will all the days of her live.

Mary is looking forward to draw many souls to the kingdom of God through her songs. She says after seeing the goodness, greatness, love and faithfulness of God, nothing can stop her from praising, worshipping and dancing for the Lord. In most of Mary’s songs I.e. “ AHOI NGAI NAMA” (the prayer warriors) and “IHINDA NIIKINYU ARATA A JESU” ) the time has come for the Son of God to return, Mary is cautioning all people not to be deceived and tricked by devil. She has declared a war with the devil and she is announcing to the whole world so that everyone may know that the devil doesn’t own anything and he is the father of lies - all he wants is to steal, destroy and finally kill God’s people. Mary is urging all people to believe and trust in Jesus Christ who is the only way, the truth and life.
